Photographer tzeli hadjidimitriou

Tzeli Hadjidimitriou was born in Mytilene, Lesvos in 1962 and spent her childhood on the island of Lesvos. She left at the age of 18 to study at the University of Thessaloniki and holds a degree in Economics.  In 1985 she was awarded a scholarship to attend a series of seminars on The Art of Cinematography taught by Michelangelo Antonioni. She then went on to study Direction of Photography for the Cinema in Rome and worked for 10 years in television and the cinema as a movie stills photographer.

Tzeli is a regular contributor to various national newspapers and magazines in Greece including Elle Greece and National Geographic Greece. She also edits and writes her own publications containing her photographs and unique view of the world.

Tzeli lives part of the year in Skala Eressos and has published several books about the island of Lesvos, including her own detailed guide to the island.
